The artist Igor Pesocki was born on January, 25th, 1962
in Zagreb, as the first of two children.
His parents were Liveri and Maria Pesocki. He grew up
with his grandfather, a shipbuilder. During this time the
artist developed his love to the element wood.
His great-grandparents, a pastor family from Estonia,
migrated early to the former Yugoslavia
As a trained electronics engineer, he worked for the
former Yugoslavian national army from 1981-1991.
Between 1991-1994 Igor lived and worked in Germany
together with his wife Vanja and their two children Ivan
and Ivana.
He returned to Yugoslavia in 1994. Today he lives with
his family in Danilovgrad, a town in Montenegro, Yugoslavia
Remarkable is the beginning of the artist´s career.
As he explained himself, Igor had a vision early 1996, in
which he saw a biblical cross.
This cross became his first work. The material he used
was oak. The completed artwork was later given to the
metropolitan Amfilohi at the monastery Cetinje in
Montenegro.
From this time on the autodidact began to produce
biblical motives, at first simple and then increasingly
more complicated and time-consuming works, who still
wait to find their equal in artistic quality, technique and
design.
It speaks for the artist, that he has given many of his
valuable works to monasteries, due to his deep
belief or to private persons, who he was grateful to for
their help, as you can notice in the gallery.
Naturally some of his art work can still be bought.
Here in Germany, we lately had the opportunity to see
some of his works at an exhibition in Wartaweil near
Lake Ammersee. In Greece the artist was invited to
several speeches by the Academy of Arts in Saloniki.
